Salary Packaging

As a not-for-profit organisation, we are recognised by the Australian Tax Office (ATO) as a Public Benevolent Institution and as such we are afforded concessional Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) treatment. This means that eligible employees are able to take advantage of salary packaging to receive up to an additional $14,950 of their salary tax-free.

Application

When you apply online, take your time and be honest. We want to understand your past experience so we can learn what you are good at and what you have achieved.
You will need to complete the online application form and upload your current CV. Make sure your CV includes your full work history and any gaps since leaving education have been explained. You will also need to provide a supporting statement, discussing how you meet the essential criteria for the role you are applying for.

Before your interview

Make sure you know your CV and application really well and try to think of specific examples that you can tell us about.

Spend time looking at our website, understanding our values and what we are striving to achieve. There are lots of recent updates in our news and blogs section which will show you some of the things we have been getting up to.

Practice for your interview. You could ask a friend or family member help you practice your answers to questions such as: Why do you want to work for CFN? Why do you think you would be good at the role? What have you achieved that you are really proud of? Are there any questions you would like to ask us? Why is becoming a disability service worker important to you?

Interview day

Whether you have worked in social care before or not, we will be looking for you to give us examples from your life that show you will be the right person for the job.
Our interviews are designed to help you tell us what you are good at and show us the kind of person you are. You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the people you could be supporting, which will help you decide whether this is the right job for you.
First impressions count. Make sure you plan your journey with plenty of time so you are relaxed when you arrive and can prepare.

Most of all, be yourself and be honest. Think carefully about your answers and make sure your mobile phone is turned off!
